Inner North Medicare Mental Health Centres

The Medicare Mental Health Centre is a free service that supports people who are living with mental health distress, as well as the families and carers of people living with mental health distress. The program provides free integrated clinical and non-clinical supports and is designed to help people who aren’t receiving mental health supports elsewhere.

This service is free and does not require a Medicare card.

Every Medicare Mental Health Centre is a little different, so the services available may vary slightly depending on the location.

You do not need a Medicare card to access the service. The service is completely free 

We are a community-based, voluntary support service that is independent of Medicare and open to everyone. Whether you’re an Australian citizen or not, you’re welcome here. 

How to contact us

Currently the Medicare Mental Health Centre team is available Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm, excluding public holidays.

Please note that our hours may change over the coming months, as we hope to offer extended hours in the future.

Anyone can refer to the centre. You can call us directly on 07 3510 2777 or email innernorthmmhc@communify.org.au to find out if our program is right for you or the person you are supporting. 

Alternatively, you can contact the Medicare Mental Health National Phone Service team on 1800 595 212 for further support with referring to our program. 

We accept self-referrals as well as referrals from GPs, family, carers and health professionals with consent.

Please note that the Medicare Mental Health Centre is a high demand service and there may be a wait for some streams of support.
